I am going to replace my timing chain (with a cam change) in the near future and I would like to know what people recommend?
How is Rollmaster and JP stuff?
Or would I be better of going with the FMS set (FMS-M6268A302 with a new thrust plate!) when I order some other parts from summit soon?

Any Double-row timing chain would be ideal for the street...

I personally would buy something AUST MADE... such as a JP unit

Rollmaster is Aussie made and is widely sold throughout USA. I have used one before on a very warm 302w that was a daily driver for many years. I sold the engine to a friend who tore it down and the chain was like new.

Ask Ford Motorsport who makes their timing chains. I wouldn't be surprised if it is a Rollmaster. That is all FMS do, repackage another manufacturers product. And I've been around windsors for a few years and i've never seen a thrust plate that was worn beyond use.

I'm not sure about pricing but would probably be cheaper to buy locally than ship from summit.

Thanks heaps for those replies guys, and the links EFGTHO thats more of a response than I expected.
I will ask my local performance shop to help me out here, as I do prefer to buy Aussie made!
Might give the gear drive a miss.

For what its worth, i too went with a rollmaster indexable chain and have so far had no worries with it

Rollmaster rock. Ive used them on both a 250 crossflow and cleveland and have had zero problems. They are as accurate as they come for street use.

Then again a gear drive is awesome sound but for the extra price not worth it for street.
