Trickflow manifold

G'day

Probably going to buy a trickflow street manifold for my 302, just wondering what spacer i have to get, i remember somebody mentioned it....

not sure if it was a 3/8 inch spacer?

Yes mate a 3/8 inch
I tried a 1 inch spacer but it started cutting into the bonnet lining

What's the spacer needed for? To raise up the upper from fouling on something i would guess???

It seperates the upper intake from the lower and provides cooler air to enter as the upper intake isnt as hot. Thats why they call it a phenolic spacer. Its an insulator against heat. Plus the spacer adds extra runner length and therefore increases torque downlow.

OK, the spacer that I used is the 3/8 inch.
It will let the upper manifold clear the coolant temp sensor on the drivers side of the lower manifold and also let the fuel lines clear on the passenger side of the lower manifold.

Would these benefit the standard explorer manifold. Would it be OK for height underneath the bonnet.
