Hey guyz, i really really REALLY want to get a V8 into my EB1!
Was just wondering what other mods need to be done to accomodate a big V8? Would the 4spd auto be alright with it?
Also, is there much power gains compared to the 3.9LMPFI?
what about fuel consumption???
If ur gonna get a V8, you will need a V8 trannie, EFI, Exhaust system, tailshaft, fuel pump, suspension and i'm sure I have missed a few things.
It's not cheap.

sorry to shatter your dreams.... but puting a v8 in is not really an option.... its just to much.... and you might get problems.... the answer.... buy an xr8.... what ever year... dosent matter....
and fuel consumtion.... yeah a v8 will go through more.... only because you will drive with a heavy foot so you can feel the power.... but with that said, you can drive it economicly.... not cheeply.... just economicly.
yeah you can buy a nice EBII XR8 for less than $8000, trade in your current EA and you could essentially get the whole XR8 upgrade for less than $5000, if ya car is good, maybe $4000
Street Machine put a 5 Ltr EFI V8 into an EA - not sure what sort of money it would cost though. My suggestion is that if ya want power then go for a 4 Ltr multipoint upgrade. If thats not enough then turbo the 3.9 after ya convert to multipoint. Otherwise do as ben suggests and purchase an XR8. Or even a series II EB V8 in GL or Fairmont guise. I saw a few EB II V8 Fairmont ghias for about $9000 in todays trading post. Although I imagine that V8 Gls are quite rare. It would be a very sweet ride if you could actually find one.
I dont mean to be critical but doesnt a six have enough power for you? I mean my six has ample acceleration for my needs. You can only travel at the speed limit anyway and a V8 wont get you to the limit much faster than a six. Just my 2c worth.
i dare say at 165kw 388nm it will get you to the limit quicker.
the 5lt long engines are around for about $2200 (parts pedler mag)
do the suspension properly and it will be a sweet car.
save $1800 for an aftermarket computer and you can mod the thing all you like.
I to want a V8 in my EA falcon , I was talking it over with someone last night on the net and found out that theres a 351 that comes out of a mustang , its got 220 kW standard , if anyone has any info on this it would be much appreciated .
