What happened to the E7 heads

I have read through the forums and note that a lot of people are bolting on GT40P's or an assortment of alloy heads. So theoretically there should be a great proliferation of E7 heads lurking in garages around Australia. I would like to experiment with porting and need a set on the cheap. I tried the wanted section with no luck, anyone in Sydney want to get rid of a set?

Re: What happened to the E7 heads

In a couple of months (or less) I might be able to help you out. I'm thinking of selling the falcon, and I doubt the new owner will be interested in spare E7's, so I would happily get rid of 'em :)

I'm in the same situation edv8wagon, I've seen some on ebay once but they were Victorian pickup only. Any brisbane based E7's about???

Re: What happened to the E7 heads

I've given up.

Herrods do GT40P's at a price that would make porting E7's barely cost effective.

Re: What happened to the E7 heads

Are the GT40P's the alloy heads? What about the Y's? Is there really a 25kg saving going alloy heads over the cast iron? What price do Herrods do the P's for? I thought you were going to do the porting yourself which would make things more cost effective!

Alloy? No

Y's? Dunno. What is a Y?

25kg? Sounds about right

Price? $1100

I was going to do the porting myself, but fitting larger valves was going to be outsourced. At that price I fail to see the point

Re: What happened to the E7 heads

X an Y's I'm pretty sure are alloy, and yes they are quite a bit lighter. However, if you're going to get these, you might as well get an aftermarket set for the same price.

Re: What happened to the E7 heads

So what is the cost of alloys roughly? Significantly dearer than the $1100 irons?

Re: What happened to the E7 heads

Most of the alloys, FMS, trickflow edelbrock etc are around the $2500 mark.
