What model accesories (alt,pulleys,belt,a/c pump, psteer pump) are best to use for a 351W in an XD(svo block, AFR heads), will the more modern AU style front setup fit onto the 351, or should I use something older like EF?

I want to run a modern belt setup and stuff from a newer car but I just don't know what will fit onto the motor? Any advice or feedback will help a lot.

It really depends on the type of power steering pump you want to run..both are the same on the drivers side of the engine, and the passengers is different, but only in the region of the pump from memory. I have a 351 windsor all kitted up with EL brackets and it all fits fine, although into the bay of the EL will be interesting.....

Does it use a v belt or the flat multi ribbed belt? So where are the diff items located p/s on pass side alt on drv side wheres the a/c?

The acc brackets bolt to the heads...Except for slightly wider apart due to taller deck there are longer serpintine belts from Ford's F series.....The AFR heads are machined same as Fords to accept acc brackets....

Where is the air cond compressor located, up top or down low?

Do you have a 3 or 4 Bolt Harmonic Balancer ?? It would pay to check before you buy any pulleys?

Its down low, on pass side.....you can buy a pulley to eliminate A/C if you like...

I just made an adjustable bracket on lower drivers side idler pulley adjusted it out approx 25 mm with angle iron and threaded bolt....The idler under alt....
Beware also that depending on what system you use latter model have reverse rotation water pumps....

Thanks everyone, I haven't even got the donk yet so I don't know whether or not its a 3 or 4 bolt, I would say it may be 4 bolt as its forged aftermarket one, I will prob be using an external wet sump pump that mounts onto the right hand side of the motor, what style or model accesory/belt system would best suit this? ie has more room on RHS?

The water pump rotation is no biggie will have elec one anyway prob keep the pump there(no impeller) just so I can run a mechanical fan off it when running on the street.
