The sensor in the middle of the picture with the yellow casing had two wires that were independant of the wiring loom, so I'm assuming it is a sensor of some sort that ran through to the dash.

However I have no idea what it is.
Help!

It is at the start of the black pipe that supplies warm coolant to the heater, and it isnt a valve, so it must be a temp sensor asociated to the heater function...my 2c.

Does your car have climate control?
It could be the coolant temp sensor for it.

No rethink, ACT is on other side so yes e.ngine coolant sensor for Climate control. What colours are the 2 wires for definate confirmation?

If that's the engine coolant temp sensor, what then is the other sensor 2 inches away? (at 11 oclock).

Confirmed. the one that is 2 inches away is the Engine coolant temp sensor.

Which still leaves the question, what's the yellow one?

theres 2 temp senders.
the larger black one at 11 oclock which is for the dash guage,& another at the right front side of the manifold which is for the ECU
My ED didnt come with that sensor on the heater tube, so it must be for a thermo fan or something
