I am wondering if anyone knows what is strongest 351/5.8L Windsor?
Do the 5.8L roller blocks have the same problems as the 5.0L roller blocks with the power limit before distruction?
I am getting a 79 block off a mate soon, anyone know if these were any good?
Hmm Love to hear everybodies views on 351W's, I don't want to stroke it, just twin turbo using forged dished pistons to suit 400M rods. I want to build a combo that wont win horsepower hero's but last and drive nice.

The 78-79 351W block's are what's looked for here in the state's, espicially if it came from a Lincoln or F150 or larger truck. These block's had a higher nickel content which made them stronger.
I'm curious as to why the 400 rod's? The 77-78 truck 351W rod's were very strong. That's what I'm running with 1019est. H.P. at the flywheel (and on nitrous you can add 500 more ) without any problem's. Of coarse they've been worked over, side beam's ground, both end's sized, floating pin's, balanced. Any machine shop worth it's salt can do this.

Do you know the model codes on the 351W block that would tell me if it is from a F150 or Lincoln?
The 400M rods aren’t for strength, mainly to increase rod to stroke ratio, reducing piston speed, reducing other wear and increasing torque but at a higher rpm.
Probably wont do it anyway, will see what prices I can get the pistons here for, we normally have to pay some very inflated prices in Aus and not just because of the AUS dollar!
I the states do you see Cleveland’s fitted with longer rods?, we have pistons available here that allows for 302C rods fitted to 351C, which reduces wear, increases torque but again at the cost of slightly higher RPM.

I'm sorry to say that the race car still hasn't sold.
The "Cleveland" rod converstion isn't used much anymore in my area. Most of the guy's are going with "Stroker" Windsor's" 406-412 cu.in. these engine's make a bunch of power, but they don't last. Any race engine I've ever built last's at least 3yr's, or I don't want it.
I'll attempt to locate the block code's for you so with any luck you can find them.

Only the cars that say "some of my cars", I wish I could find half the photos of some of the cars I have owned, especially my Chrysler Centura 3.5L 4 speed just before I sold it!(Kermit the frog green with EF ex cop steel 15" rims )

Still going to get the 351W off my mate, because it is a damn good deal, heaps of bits; 80% 5.0L 96 engine, 60/70s? 302 Heads, 3.5 in tail shaft to suit X series falcon sedan, 5.0L bottom truck intake, 5.0L Truck ECU(MAP sensor only type & not sequential EFI) + harness, ED XR8 ECU and other stuff for the sum of $500.
He has got some good deals from me, so I aint ripping him off. (i.e 302 Cleveland heads low kms, chambers relieved, 4V valves, hardened exhaust seats, mild porting, etc etc for $500 and other things we have sold to each other)
