How many k's on the car before you would say its run in??

My EL2 XR8 2/98 has 77,898km and ford told me its well run in.

I agree with Ford, that would be well run in by now. Should be performing excellently so long as it's been serviced and maintained well.

Doesn't it say in the owners manual? I thought it was only 5000 kms or something. hehe

D'oh! Well at least I wasn't wrong with the 5,000 estimate. If I actually had a new car, though, I'd probably run it in a lot longer than that.

New cars are well and truly run in by the time the customer gets them. Transport, dealer staff, pre-delivery test drives.... (he he he).

I reckon I'm only starting to get the best out of my rebuilt EFI Windsor lately. And that's with 40,000km on it!

I remember the police saying that the big Clevelands started giving their best at around 100,000......good things come with time and patience!
