Where do I buy leaf spring wedges to correct my pinion angle?
I have a vibration in my drive line. It is a 67 Mustang, 302 and AOD with a 9" rear end.
I confirmed I have the correct 50oz flex-plate.
> I wiggled the front yoke and it had slop in the tail shaft
housing. I replaced the bushing and oil seal - no more slop :-)
> I installed the drive shaft - no slop - and went for a drive.
Much better, but still not right.
> It ONLY vibrates in 3rd gear now. I can maintain about 39mph
before it shifts to 4th at 40 mph. While cruising at 39 mph the
vibration now oscillates or comes and goes rhythmically. It will
vibrate for 2 seconds, stops for a second than vibrates for 2 seconds
etc on and on.
> If I shift to 4th the vibration goes away and for what I could
tell tonight (lots of traffic and slow drivers on rough roads) it
doesn't happen in 4th gear.
> I checked my dangle angle. My trans was pointed down at the
ground at 1 1/2 degrees and the rear end yoke was pointed down at the
ground at about 4 degrees. I can't raise the tail shaft any more as
it will hit the tunnel. I need to install a wedge under my rear
end so the trans angle is closer to the pinion angle.
Where do I buy rear leaf spring wedges? I need these ASAP.
Thanks.
