5.4l SOHC V8 mods

I did a search on this topic but found nothing. What mods are best suited to this engine regarding power. I know the headers on this engine are very poor so that's a start Any other ideas?

Re: 5.4l SOHC V8 mods

They would have to be similar to the DOHC when looking for power wouldn't they, Exhaust, chip,High flow air, etc, or are you talking about opening the engine.like cam's etc.

Re: 5.4l SOHC V8 mods

All the same bold on mods from the DOHC motor will go straight on I'm guessing. Exhaust, T/B with spacer, Underdrive pulleys, SS induction intake and a unichip/exede/tsi. Those should see some fairly substantail gains mate.

The throttle body spacer won't fit as the SOHC motor has the throttle body and induction hose in a different spot to the Boss.

Thanks. But all the other mods would be fine right? They'd all have to bolt up. I'm guessing the SOHC motor run the same pulleys and serpentine belt set up as the BOSS?

I'm pretty sure they run the same belt set up.
