95 4.6 rated output

My brother owns a 95 4.6 LX Bird. He has been trying to find the factory power ratings for t he car. Everywhere he looks he finds different numbers. Any answers will be appreciated.

well, depending on your vin number, i have a 96 w/ the special DOHC engine with the V code, which makes 280 horse, but if you have the W code its only 205. also with the v code you have the 3:27 rear end instead of the 3:08 in the w code engine.........

I hate to say it because the engine options from Ford were as follows for that year.

Base - 3.8 (232 cid) V6
Rated - 145 hp @ 4000 rpm & 215 lb-ft torque @ 2750 rpm

Optional - 4.6 (281 cid) SOHC V8
Rated - 205 hp @ 4250 rpm & 280 lb-ft torque @ 3000 rpm

I have no where in my Tech data CD's, nor my manuals any info on the DOHC 4.6 for 96 in a TB or Cougar as you so describe.

VicRattleHead....could have been a little more PC in the response.
