Okay, it's 'ONLY' 290kW but look at how this engine has been tuned. It has 400Nm from 1000rpm!

That means

time for in-gear acceleration.

Also, note the dip in the torque curve which has apparently been introduced to keep economy and driveability excellent below 3500rpm. After that, as stated by someone from FPV, feel those secondary barrels open up - just like the best GTs always have!!!!

Also I just read on another website that the XW GT had;
290 Horsepower and also had 520 Nm of torque.

Interesting bit of trivia if it's true.

Ain't that a snazzy looking motor !!!! ALL HAIL THE NEW KING!!!!!!!

I can see why SOME people might not LOVE the looks of the new GT but there shouldn't be any complaints in the power and handling department!!! I'm just going to ring Ford.. see if they'll put one of those motors in the ol' XW heh heh
