Cam info.

I have been following the cam threads on ford forums and something occoured to me...There are readly available cams that should not have idle issues. They are part of the Ford Motorsport FR500 valvetrain kit.
They have 204@.050/474''int and 214/@.050/474'' lift and duration. That as about as mild as one would possibly want to run. I have used several sets and they idle about like a stocker. They also like boost. We have a stroked five liter 4V with a 66mm turbo on it it is over 1000 HP through a powerglide. Runs 8.70's@155mph in a fox body coupe.

This set is going up to New hampshire for a road race car. They are dupes of the R heads on my car. My 500hp Navi 5.4 died at 7900 when a cam sprocket bolt failed and pulled the sprocket of the exh cam.

Not mine, It is in Christene Eldert/Jake Lamottas drag radial car. My 500hp Navi engine died at 7900 when a cam sprocket bolt failed. It pulled the sprocket off the exh cam.

Isnt the Ford Motorsport FR500 gear expensive. I dont know about cam specs but how do these compare to our xr8/gt cam specs.

Re: Cam info.

FR500 gear would be BLOODY expensive I would reckon. I also would like to compare these cam specs with the BOSS 260/290 specs.
