DOHC 4.6 in falcon

Just curious, how hard is it to get a 4.6 ltr DOHC mustang engine into an EF/EL or AU? I know that 300+ coupe needed extensive mods to the engine bay and bonnet to fit it in (but bonnet dilema was because it had the eaton supercharger on top). Basically how hard would it be taking a standard 4.6 and dropping it under the hood? A new gear box and ecu are a must but, what other costs/problems are involved in doing the engine swap?

It's obviously a tight fit but it does fit as can be seen with the 300+. They couldn't do it on the production line as the engines come up from underneath but if going in through the bonnet it is do-able.

It's width may foul on such things as brake booster, ABS, brake/fuel/air/power-steer/heater lines, all ancillaries may need relocating (starter, alternator, power steer pump, aircond) requiring custom brackets to be made and suitable belts/hoses/pulleys to be sourced. The radiator may not be suitable (either in capacity or locations) and a custom unit may be needed. Not to mention engine mounts, exhausts etc.

You are already aware of the wiring, ECU & G/Box so if you can overcome the above potential issues and satisfy an RTA approved engineer then it should be a snack.

In summary;

Problems - Numerous.

Costs - Plenty.
