Can someone explain to me exactly how that thing works?

I know its supposed to swirl the air and so forth, but it seems like the grooves are too small to cause anything to happen.

Im assuming they're for both 260 and 290 engines??

the unit is for both boss 260 and 290 engines as the throttle bodies are the same.

the unique helix design (thread) creates vortex air flow, that increases the velocity of air into the engine. dramatically increasing horse power and torque, i told rob that i have noticed power gain in the lower rpm range.

Thanks MYGT, yep phoned Herrods tonight and Rob said he may have one for me by Thursday... getting cats back installed so hopefully he can do both.

Of course I will have to take Friday off to test the mods... ha ha

mygt, do you know what power gain an xr8 could get from the air injection?..... I think I have just found my next mod.
I have the cats back system coming up from Rob this week.
