Hi, I just purchased two 427 motors out of a cris craft boat. I'm having trouble identifying whether they are high riser or medium riser manifolds. The part # is C9ZE-9425 and they are 4V in really good shape. They are cast iron and weigh a ton. The heads that came off the two motors were C7JE and C7TE heads. Anyone with info would be appreciated. Thanx.

The heads are lowrisers and a very close in relation to the C6AE-R heads. The JE heads are a marine part but the TE heads were also used on trucks beside marine engines. Both are stock to the 300HP 427 marine tho. The intake is the marine version of the S code GT intake. And yes there is a port mis match like the CJ's had. The intakes are not the best for performance but fine for stock rebuilds. The crank and rods are std 390 but the pistons are forged TRW's if original. I'm sure you know the story on the blocks. Cast as sideoilers...machined as topoilers.....there are some exceptions tho so check those oil galley bosses for allen plugs. The blocks screw in freeze plugs are brass.
