67 fe 390 firing order

does the firing order go clockwise, or counterclockwise? i think its counter, but not sure, and dont want to mess it up, before i start it.
i know its 15426378, and i dont believe it matters where i start the order of the wires does it?

Re: 67 fe 390 firing order

RE your firing order, yes its correct, but it does matter where you start. First your #1 wire goes on about the 1 o'clock position on the distributor cap, then work counterclockwise from there. Best is to bring the #1 cylinder to TDC and your rotor should be in around the 1 o'clock position, there is usually a number 1 on the distributor cap.

As Dodge has said.
In other words you will mess it up if not positioned as stated. Meaning the motor will not run properly.
