ok, so i bought a "reliab;e vehical" to get to work and all, ran good for about a week then after a carb cleaning and putting about 3/4 of a liter of lucas in her, she back fired and quit. Restarted it and now its runs like its on 4 cyl, pulled off the air cleaner again to check around, started it and blew fire about two feet off the carb, not sure if this is normal for a ford....lol....anyway, changed the ecm, changed the plugs, blew out the carb, not sure what to do next.

Distributor looks good, ecm is grounded, plugs are gapped @ .040, runs for a few minutes really bogged, then blows a fireball out of the carb and dies.

glasspacks dont sound good when the engine wont run...lol...

Well Cam, it sounds like the timing chain has jumped. You can check this by bringing the engine up on top dead center, on the firing stroke, then find the #1 plug wire on the dist. cap, then pull the cap off and see if the rotor is pointing at it. One other thing, I do not think that a 84 Marguis had a 352ci engine, but I do beleive they did use a 351ci engine. Differant engine type but timing principal is the same.

sorry bout that, i did mean to type 351 but missed....n e way.....thanks for the tip im am going to go check my timing on that 351.....lol.
