Identifying a Ford 390 FE

I came across a barn find Ford 390 with horizontal exhaust manifold bolts and some of the wierdest shape manifold i have ever seen any ideas on this one? It has a Factory Four Barrel Intake Manifold and where you add oil is in the intake manifold right beside the valve cover on the lefthand side. It also has Powered By Ford Chrome Valve Covers which i rarely have seen before.

Re: Identifying a Ford 390 FE

Take a look here Ford casting ID numbers and part identification info for Mustang Shelby parts see if anything matches. Also see what the casting numbers are on the various parts. The PBF valve covers are 67 up. Intake sounds early and should have a casting number. Exhaust manifolds could be pickup truck. See what you can find out and post some casting numbers if possible.

Hi, I could be wrong, but it sounds like a 428 to me.
