Leave it alone OR take it apart?

I need some advice. I found a complete 1965 427 engine with transmission in a farmer's barn. Really! I was hoping to find my dream car, but all I got was this lousy engine. Unfortunately, I can't use it in any of my projects so I'll be selling it. It's very stock looking and it's supposed to have been pulled from a running vehicle. The farmer says he had a better/newer engine from a totalled car. (He apparently thought the 427 was a 352). The block casting # is C5AE-A.

I'll be selling it as a complete core engine with transmission unless:

Option A: I start taking it apart to check for cylinder bore size and wear, etc. Then it could potentially be sold with a much better condition report than I now have...but it would be in pieces. OR------>

Option B: Should I leave it alone and sell it undisturbed and as is? What would you do?

Re: Leave it alone OR take it apart?

I am new to this forum and as I own a couple of Galaxies I thought that the big block forum would be a good place to start. After reading your post about the 427, I am interested in buying it off you, since you don't have a use for it. Please call me on 0417 554 831 and let me know how much you want for it and where you are located. I look foward to hearing from you.
Thanks for your time Bart.
