hey guys. I have a 64 galaxie with a c6 and a 390fe. I was wondering if I need to get a different size push rods or different rockers other than factory size.

Yep you'll need adjustable rockers with that cam. .550 is pushing it with non adjustables. I've always went no more than .535. So yes you'll need new rockers and ball and cup style pushrods. I hope new lifters are planned and just not mentioned. Rocker assys can get expensive so watch what your buying anf from who. You can look at DSC Motorsport Ford Racing Parts and get some ideas that fit the budget.

You can buy the stock adj. rockers on ebay for about $200-250 depending on the bidding, or you can buy an new set of adj. roller rockers for about $325-350. I would do some shopping around first, and if your going to run high rpm's you might consider the 3/8 ball and cup pushrods. The 5/16 will more than likely do the job just fine, I personally would go with the bigger ones. Make sure that the ratio of the rockers are 1.76 ratio. The edelbrock intake you are going to use is OK, if you can aquire an edelbrock F-427 intake it would breathe better, it is the same design as the Police Interceptor intake, it's just preference again!

Jay Brown did fairly extensive testing on most of the popular oem and aftermaket intakes on a mildly built 428. Very interestng results and some good reading. He also tested some 2x4 and tunnelrams. Results will differ from engine to engine but will give you a good base to work from.....

If you want roller tip rockers. Try DSC Motorsports. They have them for$280 a set. I ran them for years on a solid roller cam with no issues. Here is a link
