The Ultimate FE?

The Windsor motors are fine and dandy, and can be popped out to big block displacement, but completely run out of exhaust flow. now, with cost-effective blocks now available for the FE, and good heads available, a 352 with good heads and a big cam could be a total killer. Think: 10,000 rpm from a big block, and awesome power. The engine could be the next big thing, but only if people try it. What do you think?

Re: The Ultimate FE?

fe was greatly overshadowed by the 429/460 family but it seems to me the fe is coming back, i know i'm not getting rid of my 390 for a 460. i work on 460's every week, fe is much simpler/easier to wrench on just a little more expensive but price should come down with more people building them so more companies will make parts. everyone and their brother has built a chevy so a lot of people (like me) have gone to something more unique, i swear theres not a single 68 country sedan in this state but mine and i like that

Re: The Ultimate FE?

Ford already made bucket loads of high performance FE stuff back in the 1960's.Alot of it is still out there and floating around on places like swap meets, ebay and so on.Much of it is expensive, but worth it in most cases.Edelbrock make Alloy heads for the FE and they are'nt the only ones, and there are at least two companies making new alloy 427 FE Blocks at present...long live the FE!!!
