G'Day guys (and gals),
Im a 20 year old Male from Sydney. In about 10months time I'll be buying an XR6T. Insurance will be a killer at about $3000+ a year for an under 25. Is it true that the SeriesII will be out in about September?? If so, I'll buy a Series 1 in some sort of "run out" sale then.
Oh, and im just like Lowndes and Ingall, going from Commodore to Falcon. At the moment I drive a 1988 VL Commodore, so bring on the XR6T!! Click here to see my car and some cool Photoshop Falcons
As other mentioned good choice with the XR6T. It will be a long 10 months however !!. Nice Photoshop work as well, I like your 'clean' BA version with the large intercooler. Is your VL a turbo as well?

Welcome, Im similiar age/position to you: Used to follow Holden like mad, but then I got sick of Skaife, Holden PR, and pushrods. Wont be getting an XR6 for a while though. Company Cars see to that. Funny enough my first car was an 87 model Berlina with the RB30 donk. Auto, non turbo :(
BA S2 will be launched at next years Sydney motor show - so the Ford stand should have a bit more pulse than it did this year - so OCT 2004.
Not sure how your chances will be at finding a run out XR6t - they are pretty popular atm, then again, things may change once the model becomes established in the market place.
I dont know what field of work you are in, but some large institutions have deals with insurance agencies - I get a very cheap rate on comprehensive insurance for my personal car.
My VL isn't a Turbo :( but its had the head ported and has a big cam too. 2.5"exhaust, extractors, LSD, 5speed. I've spent so much on it in the last year...............I should have saved the money for my XR6T, but ohwell, the next 10months will be so LOOOOONG! I've alway followed Ford too. I've been a DJR supporter all my life.
My car was in Street Machine August 2003 on page 32 in the "Your Stuff" section. Dont know how much I'll get for the thing.

Which insurance company is willing to take you on?

The VL is with Shannons. I can do all the mods I like to it, as long as I tell them about the mods. I pay $150/month at the moment and its insured for $7000. When I buy the XR6T next september I'll do the ring 'round to all of the 'em and get quotes.
