confused 18" wheels-hit rev limiter

Hi all,
Would appreciate some feedback on this one.
Recently swapped my stock 17" XR6T rims/tyres for 18" 5 spoke FPV aftermarket look-a-likes.
Look great and all but it hits the rev limiter in 1st & 2nd b4 changing up when in performance mode ? I suspect it's something to do with overall diameter of wheel slightly taller than b4 - can it be fixed / adjusted ?
Thanks in advance.

Re: 18" wheels-hit rev limiter

the difference in diameter between the 17's and 18's is only 10mm and the revs/km is lowered from 495 for 17's to 487 for the 18's, I dont think the difference in rims would make a diff, maybe the new tyres you have are less grippy than the old, check out this tyre size calculator

Re: 18" wheels-hit rev limiter

Thanks Turb -that makes sense actually as the rears were abit low on tread. I swapped tyres and rims and got what were already on the 18's.
