Went to visit my mate at Alto Ford this morning. Well, I hope he's a mate after buying my last four Fords off him.

They had a Phantom XR6T with every option known to man sitting in the showroom. Sat nav, 18" wheels, premium brakes, leather, just to name a few. Nearly had me convinced to trade in my AUII XR6 until he told me the price, around $60 000

I told him that if I was going to spend that kind of money, I'd order a GT.

The good news is, the wife has given me the all clear. I'll be ordering a XR6T with leather when my ship returns from our deployment in the Persian Gulf next year.

I knew I married the right woman!

Thanks for the comments guys, we leave in March unless things happen sooner.

AP - the XR6T was ready for immediate delivery. The only option missing was a sunroof.

The sales manager ordered it, then was sacked. It's only done 43Kms.

The optional 18" alloys looked fantastic!

if it came with 12 pounds boost instead of 6 i would fly my poverty-stricken bum down to sydney and take out a loan to buy it, $20 a week for the next 120 years (if you include interest)...that sounds like one very very nice car!

I've already got the AASM, I was there during the 1991 Gulf war on the Brisbane. The money will be nice though.

I also found out what the real price of the XR8 is. I won't reveal it as I'm not sure if the price has been released yet. I will say though, that it will be a pleasant suprise.
