about to buy XR6T

needs opinions from people who drove the XR6T and how they compare it to the XR8? 450NM on 2000-4500 is a brilliant thing, for me it's better than 500nm on 4250 rpm.

I really need your opinions about should I wait till the XR8 or the XR6T rocks?

reply soon, thanks everyone.

If you want a car that you can up the power easily & cheaply go the XR6T for sure. Change the exhaust on the XR6T & it would match the XR8's torque. Probably get better resale on the turbo as well (if you can use the VLT as a guide).

also , in the XR6 you have power when you want it , you dont need to open the throttle to really move because of its flat torque curve....i dare say the xr6t would feal more powerfull at low-mid revvs than the xr8 becuase it is allways in its peak torque zone.

The XR6 Turbo will be lighter too! Just my 2 cents worth.

Ayman,

If you're not in total need of a new car right now, i would wait for the XR8 so that it at least gives you the choice. Wait for the XR8, end all the speculation, and base your decision on both cars real figures, performance etc.

If the Turbo is really what you want, then go for it, but why would you ask the question then?? If you doo need a car now, then definitely go the XR6T, definitely nothing better on the market at the moment.

But...I think wait so that you don't regret it once the XR8 is released and you find that you may prefer it and it's performace.

just a thought.

BUY THE TURBO. I love V8. My first car was an EL XR8 manual and let me tell you, after having a drive in the XR6T and the Boss 260 the only difference is Aural.

I agree with JEM, if you can wait, wait and compare the two side by side and make your own choice. But you will not be disappointed with the XR6T.

I've given the XR8 & the XR6t a flogin & believe me the 8 is more fun & comes with a hump in the bonnet & sounds better. Of course I am biased to the V8 anyway. Bottom line is they both go like the clappers (whatever clappers are).

BlackPete lives in Burwood, which is in Melbourne, right?

He may work for Ford.

Anyway, Ayman, you have two great cars in your garage now, so if I was you, I would wait for the XR8 Boss to come out.
