Adjustable boost for BA XR6T - Ford Forums

I was talking to a mechanic that works at the local Ford dealership and he reckons the BA XR6T has adjustable turbo boost that varies from around 3psi to 7psi. I would imagine that this would be computer controlled, not a manual knob on the dash, does anybody else have any info on this?

yes controlled by the computer 3.9-7.0

how much power will 7psi produce. i'm gathering more than the 240kW at 6psi.
is this easy to adjust?

the boost pressure is varible in opperation. dont think you can adjust it easily

The boost pressure varies so the engine at no time produces more than 450Nm torque - this is to save the gearbox on the manuals from overload. That is also why the torque curve is flat at it's maximum of 450Nm from 2500 rpm on.
