wouldnt the exhaust headers get brittle after time getting so hot and cooling off all the time? and what if water splashed on them from the road, wouldnt they crack?

not that anyone would be driving constantly at wide open throttle, but just wondering.

it would be very hard to get the headers that hot on the road, that engine is probably near its rev limter.

It the celica i have given it a really hard time once at night then we had a look under the bonnet and it was red hot, you could see the oil running throught it. Not as red as that tho!!

i let her run for a long time after that to cool it down :)

I beg to differ, as I have seen this exact same thing after driving a HR31 Skyline turbo manual sedan top speed. The turbo was see-through...no bull.

Beatnik I've seen a set of Lancer Evo headers get that hot in real life conditions. Mind you they were giving this evo absolute punishment. And this Evo is the biggest HP 4cyl in the state (registered but totally illegal). It looks wicked.
