Hey new member and soon to be new owner of new Mk2 turbo ute, silhouette, sports leather seats, 6 speed , hard cover and hopefully APS 2 in the near future. Cant wait to spank some of the try hard pretenders around darwin or some real competition. Just cant let go of the old XH ute though it wants a blown clevo me thinks.....

I have the edit on my ute :hy: set me back $1299 and it has three maps on it... valet.... 8 psi and 10psi maps.
I now run the 10 psi map and its fantastic :driver: The great thing is it takes only a few minutes to change between maps and if you want to return it to factory just flash the factory tune back in.... (this is saved in your flash unit when you download any of the programs into your car)
I dont want to start a war between piggybacks and the edits... but lets just say that for the BA the edit is the way of the future :hy:
I have bought injectors and am sourcing an intercooler... when I get these fitted I will get a custom tune done... a custom tune will set you back $300 and it will suit any mods you have done.
Thanks for the info mate. Sounds like the edit may be the way to go in terms of performance and value for money...Bang for your buck. Have to look into it... Hopefully there is someone in the Darwin area who would be able to carry out the work for me.

if there isnt just call capa (capa performance) direct.. they send the box to you.. no work involved... you just plug it in under your steering wheel where the fuses and stuff are... choose the program (8 psi or 10 psi), press select and wait till the program has been loaded into your car.. its that easy :hy:
if you want a custom tune you will need a dealer in the darwin area to do that.
Cheers mate, I'll definately being ringing CAPA as soon as my ute arrives... Hopefully within the next couple of weeks. Too easy eh. Do you know what kind of power your car is putting out with those mods?

235 rwkw... the car was hot and it was a 32 degree with only a fan in front of the car... the big jobbie they normally have was sent to the US to get worked on.... my brother inlaw pulled 237 rwkw when the car was hot... he had time so he let the car cool down for an hour and ran 265 RWKW!!!!!
This is why I am after the intercooler... the standard one doesnt cool enough and hence big variance in power on a hot day (heatsoak)... depends on your location mate... if you live in a cool area your power should be more consistent and you shouldnt need an intercooler unless bigger mods are planned :hy:

Thats pretty impressive power mate, You've got me very interested in the CAPA edit to say the least.
But I think i would need to source an intercooler aswell upgrade as I live in Darwin and it is very hot and humid. So correct me if I'm wrong but is the CAPA edit is designed for stock xr6t's and you will need a custom tune if you get any mods like exhausts and intakes? Also, how did the standard injectors and clutch cope with the 10psi map?
Let us know how it goes after the intercooler and custom tune, been on some other forums and heard nothing but good news.
Hey congrats on the ute mate. ah so you got the new yellow colour, its certainly very bold. Its good to see more and more happy turbo owners out there.
Just wish mine would hurry up and get here...
The frustration and anticipation is getting to much for me.

My edit is fine with my 2nd air intake and centre muffler removed.... I would recommend that you get an intercooler if your in a hot climate as heatsoak is a major factor.... other then that, its all good.
I did have an issue with the edit when I first bouhgt it... I got a call from capa and they fixed by by supplying new tunes for the box that are more suited to brisabnes climate.. Thanks to capa for that :hy:
There will be another edit on the market soon too from APS, should check that out too :hy:
