EB SIX ON N2O

my dad got his turbo ute serviced last thursday at thomson ford,
and the dumb #@*$s think you only put in 5lts of oil, not the 7lts recommended in the oners manual.
man, how long have the turbos been out for and the idiots at ford still have no idea!
the oil was just under the add line.

anyone else had this problem?

I had the opposite problem. One service in my AU2 and got home to find oil all over the driveway. Checked the dipstick and the oil line is fully one inch over the full mark.

I have one guaranteed fact to put forward. No servicing is being done on my car by anyone other than me or my trusted local Mobil 1 Service Center (oh, City Ford Sydney City are more than okay usually and they'll continue to get the warranty work).

Exactly Pete, thats why i don't let the Ford dealers change my oil despite my free servicing to 60k. Spent like $82 for the Mobil 1 5w-30 expensive but i know what oil is going in my car and how much to pu tin.

I've just realised that not all Ford technicians know what oil to use when it comes to the XR6 Turbo....or any turbocharged Falcons. By default, they use the same oils for the standard sixes and AU V8s..which is good for a normally aspirated engine...but after checking the technician's manual for the BAs, the senior tech (at the dealership which I frequent) then found out that the BA turbo falcons and the 5.4L BA XR8s use a different oil. But still, it is semi synthetic....so I opted for a fully synthetic oil. At extra cost but what the heck...anything for my 'baby' :)

So, check and make sure your technician knows what he's doing.

I had the exact same problem with my dealer they overfilled with oil it was about 3cm over the full mark.makes you wonder dosn't it.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but my dad is a mechanic running his own business and he says that he doesnt recommend using synthetic oil on new engines. He generally waits till it clicks over quite a bit of kays before using synthetic. I cant remember why exactly but I'll get back when I ask him tonight.
