Wow Thats Cheap For A Turbo, Ive Been Looking In The Trader And Have Never Seen Any Under 35 Thats Standard Features, Like Mine, oh well id just keep the car than sell it for that, bugger the misus.

$30k would be more a whole price for that car and not the norm (maybe for an XR6 N/A maybe). One look at www.carsales.com.au and you will see that. Average prices privately range from mid $35k-$43k depending on year made, options and km's etc. Considering yours has done 30,000km I would say a $35k asking price is reasonable. Any less and as you say, you're be better off hanging on for a year or two if possible.

Just to give you an indication of XR prices, I have a Feb 2004 BA XR6 Turbo (build and plated) with just over 5000km on the clock, SSS Auto, Premium Sound, tinted windows, front/rear mud spats and carpet mats, and I was getting a trade-in price of between $34-36K from Ford dealers.

Ford dealers have plenty of them lying around yards these days, many coming back from ex-Ford employees (which really pissed me off as a private buyer..). Some Ford delaers I visited are now selling them NEW (with most of the options I have) for $37-39k.
With the announcement of the BA MkII, they will probably fall even more.


If you sell it privately, and she is in good condition, you should be able to get $30 if your lucky, but as a trade-in, you'll probably be looking at $25-26k.

ps- I've since moved into a Ford Escape Limited. Its a top car with plenty of room and power.
