Goodbye Mr T- Hello XR8

Have made the move & switched from a Mk1T to an MkII XR8 sedan after several years of enjoyment with the "little" brother. The new 6 sp man is good (when hot) and there's very little driveline clunk in the new beastie. I miss that evil turbo whistle but gotta lov that bulge & there is something about a V8 at full song that makes the eyes water. Handling seems a bit firmer than the Mk1T and she's thirstier than a uni student at happy hour! They are both darn good cars but from what I read on this forum a Tornado with some tweaks just might have to be the next midlife crisis after the 8- decisions decisions..

I always thought the T with less weight gave it more balance to the 8, but each to their own ,hope ya have lots of good times with the 8 the bulge and the sound are awesone.

thanks- sometimes I prefer the old Citric T back but it was an er interesting relationship. Yes overall I would say the T was the more nimble car- I havent driven the Mk1 8 so cant compare the upgrades with the Mk2 like for like. Where I live there arent a lot of bendy roads so the XR8 in Velocity and wide open is fine. By the way- saw the new Bionic blue colour sample recently- looks good. Where do all the XR8ers post to?

Yeah, I also went from a Mk 1 Turbo to Mk 11 XR8, mainly for resale reasons with the edition of the 18rims and 6 stack CD.

At first I thought the eight was way heavier in the front, and no where near as nimble, but it's amazing what you get used to. The 8 just feels normal now, and is unbelievably docile for power oversteer, so controllable and predicable on the limit or rather just past it.

Both cars are fun!
