Two weeks ago i drove to Canbera from Brisbane. i ran the car through a car wash and started it up and the engine made a terrible noise. i limped over the Gregoys Frod over the road from the car wash and Barry Game (Service Manager) took charge and the senior techs took the cam cover off to reveal a broken valve spring.

The guys got me into a renter within 45 minutes. I drove back to Sydney and then on the Brisbane the next day. Early in the day Barry called me to tell me that they would releace the engine entirely.

This was completed last Wednesday week and the car was tansported back to my Brisbane dealer who then checked it and detailed it for my pick up.

Both Gregory's and Ford kept me infomed. The only downside was the TOLL logistics took a week to get it to Brisbane.

Thanks to Ford and Gregory's they did a great job and i have no complaints about the work.

The guys think it was just a faulty valve spring so only time will tell.

Good to hear a positive story for a change. The downside is this faulty valve spring seems to a semi common occurence in BAs, I've heard of several others having this problem.

I may not have a BA, (AU2 XR8) however, being the topic of Great service from Ford. i wish to express my great service i've had with Etheridge ford in Ringwood (vic), Any problem i had, they sorted it out straight away, no excuses..

I highly recommend them if your nearby as your choice of warentee repair / servicing

Good to hear Ford is backing up a great new car with decent service.... as opposed to d!ckhead Holden dealers who claim that using 2 ltrs of oil in 10,000 kms is "normal"...

Thank God my SS never used oil, i'd have been very p!ssed off. My old mans XR6 ute hasn't skipped a beat yet, how common is this broken valve spring problem ?? Or is it confined to the turbo 6's only ??

good to hear that you are happy with the dealer, i to have had transport problems with TOLL's dont know how they get away with it but they must have a good contract with ford

it is a shame that they have to take all the cars to F.P.V. from FORD & back Again before they then transport them to the dealers from what i can gather there is a fair hold up with transporting the cars
