Thats the big question mark hanging over the DOHC head, to gain the benefits, it needs to rev higher and the 4.0 isn't exactly smooth up high.

I recall an article discussing the DOHC head when Ford first developed it back in the EA days, basically they could get a 3.2 to develop the same power as the 3.9 but at higher revs, but there was no point, just use the 3.9 - the 3.2 would have been a better revver too!

I hope the new version of the 4.0 six has better fuel economy. My boss is looking at getting rid of our 2 XR6's because of the cost to run them.
We have been changing tyres at nearly 20,000 km. They use more fuel than the bosses 5.7 SS Commodore . I really like driving them because it is a much better ride than the V6 Rodeo we had but the Rodeo has better running cost. A set of tyres has lasted to 95,000km.
Not looking forward to another Rodeo, Jan!
