Jus two weeks to go now until my XR6 Turbo UTE arrives, YEAH HAA.
I was wondering how many KM per week/month /year you guys and Girls trael in your XR's, my ute will be used as a company car and will travle about 1100km per week, every week, and I am hoping the running costs arnt going to hurt too much, my current car, AU futura is 3.5years old and has 211,000km on it, it has been CHEAP CHEAP to run.
Who has the most KM here on a turbo?

after long heated drives i'd give the car a chance to idle before shutting it off
the oil will cool down and the turbo will remain lubricated with cooler oil
apart from that, turbo cars consume a small amount of oil (oil lines feed into the turbo to keep it lubricated, some gets into the compression housing and gets combusted) so on long drives make sure you check your oil...
can't comment on running costs as i don't have XR6T... Yet :)
Be prepared to own shares in a petrol station. They love the juice.
As for letting the car idle, there is no need. If you are stopping after spirited driving, the turbo will get all the cooling it needs by the time it takes you to come to a stop. The turbo is really only working when you first put your foot down.

My question was not one so much on the way to look after a turbo car, I am a heavy diesel mechanic and mechanical engineer with over 18 years or experience building, running and maintaining turbo engines.
It was more of a general question of how many km's do you Guys and Girls average a week.
I have a company fuel card so I don’t care how much fuel it uses
thanks anyway.

I've got a BA XR6 NA and I do about 600 - 800 city km a week, which is about 2 tanks of fuel a week.
