How much can I knock off the sticker price?

Hi all

I know the XR6Ts are red hot ATM and therefore the potential discount is limited...

But I was wondering what people have managed to get off their new XR6Ts?

As a side note, I went to a local Holden dealer and they were falling over themselves to give their cars away - compared with a couple of years ago when you got a stupid smile if you mentioned a discount.

Oh, the worm has turned...

Cheers

I only got about $800 off with a "claytons" fleet buyer discount. With a "proper" fleet discount I've heard of up to $4K discount but these are generally only available to leasing companies and the like. There's about a 3 month waiting list for XR6Ts (depending on where you buy and what options you want) so the dealers are basically selling everyone they get before they hit the showroom and often without potential customers test driving so they would be in no hurry to discount such a popular car. If you have any friends or relos that are Ford employees you might be able to do a deal getting them to buy the car for you as they get a substantial discount (less than fleet I think).

If you want an XR8 though there are at least 4 at my local dealer just sitting there gathering dust - Citric Acid and Blood Orange are 2 of the colours in stock.

plus the XR6T 5sp Silhouette with leather, premium sound and sunroof out front of the second hand yard. 2.5k on the clock, 50k sticker.

... and the obligatory drool marks. Sorry.
