Looking to source an upgraded intercooler (among other things) before I get a custom tune. Wondering if anyone has any advice on a decent cooler. I thought the APS unit seemed pretty good, especially with the added wastegate and turbo mods u get with though it is a bit pricey. Probably want about spend about $1500 plus all plumbing to helpl my t cope with the heat in Darwin.

Quick question:
I'm looking at fitting the MRT intercooler unit to my XR6T. Can I fit it to my internally standard engine. I essentially want to get rid of the poxy standard unit for aesthetic reasons...my 6T is being built up to be a show car.
What will it do for my engine? I read that it bolts straight in....but will i need to modify the internals at all and will it increase my boost above what the Flasher unit can give me?
Cooler air at a larger volume can't hurt right?

I've fitted a bigger intercooler to my car. Theres' a thread on the 'other' forum about the intercooler available from CAPA. It's 2.6 times bigger than the stock unit, costs around $990 plus freight.
I fitted mine yesterday, probably one of the best mods I've done so far apart from the SCT flasher. Power increase feels huge compared to running the same boost with the stock intercooler.
PM Street Tuner for intercooler details.
I think you'll find you need less boost with the bigger intercooler, as there is more volume of air (colder charge temp = denser air).

I'll retune it when the dump pipe and cat go on. So far AFR's haven't changed enough to warrant a retune. Must say though the car runs the 11psi program on Caltex Vortex Gold fuel (95 ron) without any issues. I will run 98 ron fuel with the 14 psi program though.
