No, this is the (supposed) real fix. The interim fix doesn't really exist. There is an option of replacing the circlip with a heavier duty version but the way the clutch operates it is likely to fail again.... might as well replace it with the original.

Hi Matt. Saw your F6 at the big BP service centre off the M1 on Sunday arvo. Looked like she needed a bath mate, but black is like that.
I have my F6 in at the dealer getting new clips fitted to at least get me moving. Apparently one of the 3 original clips had broken. They are having more trouble finding a new gearbox after telling me they wanted to replace the old one. Now up to 11 days in a Fairmont and no reactrion when I push them for an FPV replacement. No sign of a letter from FPV, thought I have spoken to Guy a few times.

Sorry to hear you need a gearbox replacement as well, Craig. As soon as you get your letter I'd be taking it straight to the dealer and showing them. Don't be too disappointed in the Fairmont though... just think mate it could be ......a Berlina
it would be mad to drive around in a F6 typhoon!! must get looks from everyone, its a mean looking car ;-) I remember when the xr6 turbo first came out,a dn there was one filling up at a shell petrol station, people took photos of it, was a unique car, now there are heaps on the road!
Sounds like a positive sign for now for the f6 owners which is good. You guys will be getting big head turns and once you start doing your slight mods the holden boys would die to get the attention you'd be getting!!!

Yeah got the letter today. I am considering it as my car is a little dodgy on some changes. Might take it to my dealer and see what they think.

Yeah that was me, had been at a sports carnival all weekend and parked under trees. It had been shit all over and dusty as crap. I did wash it the next day and it was clean for about an hour, should have seen her then, wow!
