Luxury package now available on XRs - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

Has anyone heard about the new luxury package available on the XRs from April 2004? Apparently on XR6, it's about $4500 and includes dual zone climate control, leather seats, traction control, premium audio, rear electric windows, etc. And it is about $3500 for turb and 8. Basically you could get an XR6T Ghia - the package is based on the Fairmont Ghia.

Any opinions???

Actually dude, you are right. I was sort of mentally calculating it as a cost to me, coz I got premium audio and rear electric windows anyway... so yes, you are correct. Cool option I reckon. And wonder what it will do to Fairmont/Ghia sales? Maybe they werent selling too well anyway. My Dad has been looking to trade in his AU Fairmont and he has a thing about climate control ..... so he was either going to get Fairmont Ghia or try and stretch the budget to a GT-P. But he loves the look of mine, and the idea of a turb (he used to race so he is a bit of a freaky revhead boy at heart) and he nearly bought a burgundy (don't remember the name coz I hated the colour) V8 Fairmont Ghia off the floor but decided against it at the last minute coz he didn't like the drab interior. Now he is totally happy and will prob get Blueprint turb with 18s, tinting, sunroof and the luxury package. Happy as a pig in turds!

Would probably be good for resale too, it being a whole package and all. And gotta love the leather...mmmmmm.

Why don't they offer upgrade options on the UTE, stupid Ford Mo Co, don't they realise how many ppl would up spec a ute, we can't even get the color screen in the dash

With a reduced payload, most ppl aren't buying XR utes for a work mule, we want a ute that is enjoyable to drive, wake up Ford!

Now Ford just need to make the T engine available in the Fairmonts and buyers will be in heaven.

Honestly, some people would prefer the classy looking Fairmont chassis* with the pep of the XR6T, so why not make it an option?

*erm, non XR headlights basically!

Yeah, I am sure Ford are really worried about Fairmont sales.... Ha ha. Oh, I am not sure if the luxury package will not be available on the utes! I have not checked. But I don't see why not! When you say you cannot get the colour screen, do you mean that you cannot option premium audio (which comes with the colour screen)??? If not, then I agree with you, that sucks.

Now that climate control is available on XRs I wonder whether FPV will make it available on the GT or the F6?

They, also, should package it with leather IMHO.

I doubt that they would this option on the utes. But it's seems like a good idea to have them on the power packed cars.

I just checked, it seems the package is not available on the utes:

"The XR Luxury Interior Package now allows Falcon XR sedan buyers to combine the superior performance of the legendary XR range with the interior comfort typically found only in a luxury vehicle."

However, if they have come this far with bringing that package on the XRs, maybe the utes are not far away. Bummer for the utes at this stage though...

I guess it is so because utes are suppose to be for the workers as such and not for the wannabe workers if you know what I mean. I ain't flaming just opinionating.
