Got my new Mk2 manual turbo ute the other day and she goes great! Only one problem the diff is making a terrible noise at low speeds, especially when turning corners. I know this topic has been covered previously but I was wondering if anyone with similar problems has had it rectified by ford. I am plannig on waiting till the 3000km free service until I tell the dealer cause I thought maybe it was just normal for a new diff. Any feedback on this would be appreciated

Mate it seems standard fare. I bought a series 2 demo XR6 N/A for one of my reps, it had 3200 klm on it and they put a new diff in it before it headed to Qld on the truck. If you tell them about it now they should have a new one waiting at the dealership when your 3000klm service is ready, apparently there is about a 1 month wait. Shame Ford can't find a better supplier considering the problem has been evident since the first batch of BAs rolled off the production line.

I wonbder if any one has checked to see if the same manufacture also supplies the Crewman/1tonner Holden they have exactly the same problem.
You go in every 10k's for a newy no questions asked if you get that far.

Cant understand if they have these problems WHY WHY WHY continue with this manufacturer.
I had a new one in on Tuesday drove home @ 30 kph anfd it was ready for a new one the next day so they put another one in.
Didnt last 40 kilometers.
YEP 40 kilometers from the dealer to home and back ??????????

Currantly yes, both supplied by Dana and both bad. Found the quote below quite interesting, given that ION is now in serious financial trouble. Perhaps it does at least indicate the Holden were trying to fix the Commodore's diff problems for VE.

mate I had my T in for service last thursday and they said there is nothing they can do. They tried to tighten up the CV's and said they could order a new diff but it would end up just as bad. I've also been told that there is a new driveline supplier for the next (copperhead) falcon so that pretty much says ford no there is a serious problem they just can't be fcuked fixing it
