no restrictions in Perth, just hoon laws.. if you get caught doing burnouts they take your car for a period of time, 1 st offence 24hrs, second 1 week, third 1 month, they are pushing laws that if it is a fourth time you loose the car!!

Hi there guys. just thought id let you all know that it is possible to own and drive any high powered vechile. i know this because i have owned an xr6t since 19 i am now 21 so i don't need to worry anyway this is how i did it.
first you need to have the car insured as a work car, i work for my father so this worked out well. also i registered the car in dads name but nominated myself as the full time driver. this avoided the high insurance premiums. then to be legally allowed to drive the car i had to write a letter to vic roads bullshiting on how this was my nominated work car, and giving every reason under the sun that i should be allowed to drive it. anyways a week later i got a letter in the mail. it was an official exemption excluding me from the high powered vechile law that was recignised by vicroads and victoria police. so since then i got away with it yay. this is all legit because i had an accident in which was my fault and my insurace covered it. hopefully this helps anyone trying to dodge the law. my number is 0409862422 if anyone has any futher questions because i dont check this site often. cheers
mate hate to be the wet rag but insurance companys have caught on to the insure in your dads name and nominate ur self and calculate the insurance on the youngest driver , how do i know this? because i tryed and they told me where to go. but none the less good effort and good luck

Hey guys im new to these forums. Im 20 and own a black xr6 Turbo. Currently has 295KW at the rears. Small amount of mods done. Also just want to add something. Im on my P plates, just finished my reds. Ive had my P's now for almost 4 years. Reason i only just got my greens is because ive lost my licence 7 times. So out of the 3 years ive had my falcon ive only been able to drive it for just over a year. Ill post some pics up as soon as i can
1. There are some people on here that are full of shit.
2. You seem to be missing an easy way of avoiding the cops - take the turbo badges off, and don't put stupid decals and badges all over the place saying 'turbo' - you look like a tool and it's only asking for trouble. Then the only way the cops will notice your turbo is if they open the bonnet (very rare) or they run your rego (coz u were speeding or doing something stupid).
3. If you're driving an XR8 (be it a AU, BA or BF) on your Ps, especially in Victoria, it's only a matter of time before you're nabbed.
The new P plate laws in Victoria and NSW are gonna to absolutely ass-rape you if you're caught driving a 'high-powered vehicle'. And to those in QLD - your time will come. Also note that QLD has one of the worst pro-rata road toals in the country.
Taking the badges off is an easy way to avoid most trouble - just don't get caught doing anything stupid.
Or you could just turbo an NA XR6 - it costs a little more in the end, but you end up getting a vehicle that (if properly tuned) is competition for any 'phoons you meet at the traffic lights
