Pro Hart XR6T Ute
Looking for attention on the road and don't mind raising a few eyebrows and dollars for the Royal Flying Doctor Service? The answer to your dreams may have finally arrived…
Enter the BA Falcon XR6 Turbo Ute - complete with turbo charged engine, sequential sports shift transmission, air-conditioning and an original Pro Hart paint job!
The Pro Hart Falcon Ute is the brainchild of best-selling author, Allan ("The Uteman") Nixon. In conjunction with another legendary Australian "bushie", renowned artist Pro Hart, these two "blokes from the bush" have created a one-of-a-kind work of art on a Falcon Ute donated by Ford Australia.
Upon being given a tour of Pro's garage, stocked with Rolls Royce's, Bentleys and the like, Allan noticed a glaring weakness in the line-up – the absence of an Aussie Ute. Given his long association with the Ford Australia, Allan approached Ford with the idea of having Pro paint a Falcon Ute. Ford was eager to assist and even more enthused when it was agreed by all parties that the vehicle would subsequently be auctioned and the proceeds donated to the Royal Flying Doctor Service, one of Australia's most worthwhile charities.
The Pro Hart Falcon Ute predominantly features scenes of outback Australia. Dragonflies merge with the Ned Kelly scene at Glenrowan, the mine at Broken Hill blends into a scene of squatters camped by a billabong. There's even a direct homage to the Royal Flying Doctor Service on the bonnet – a depiction of the Dragon Rapide, a Flying Doctor Service (as it was known then) bi-plane that Pro recalls from his childhood landing on the clay pans around Menindee – the remote western New South Wales town he grew up in.
Since its inception in 1928, the Royal Flying Doctor Service has provided a vital healthcare lifeline to remote communities throughout Australia. But in order to continue to provide quality medical care to remote areas, the organization is in constant need of funds.
The Pro Hart Falcon Ute will tour many parts of regional Australia culminating in its display at the Sydney Motor Show from 16 – 26 October 2003. As a grand finale, Shannons will auction the vehicle on the last day of the show with proceeds to be donated to the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
The successful bidder will not only secure a brand new Falcon XR6 Turbo Ute, they will also be privileged to own the only Ute in the world to be painted by Pro Hart.
