A guy at my work has just bought a new 6L R8 ute and has challenged me to a race tomorrow (XR6T APS2 269RWKW, 5spd), he sounds very confident and i must admit his car does sound good even standard (297KW). I know my car should pull away but the 2nd - 3rd changes are F%$#ED and i hope i do not stuff it, other wise eveyone in the office will not let me live it down!
Does anyone know what the new R8 will do down the quarter? And how much they weight compared to my car.

Sounds like an easy win to the turbo, unless the R8's a auto in which he will initally obtain an advantage off the line (you should hopefully run him down). Have a few runs if you can to get use to the circumstances. Good luck and be safe. I assume you guys are doing this under safe conditions at the local dragstrip.
Regardless of who wins it maybe interesting to swap cars and have another go to see if the outcome is the same.
Oh and by the way the R8 is good for around 13.5 (sedan) for the 400. Your XR6T APS Stage 2 (auto) is an easy 12 second car.

The R8 is an manual so the starts should pretty close. Are the utes as quick as the sedens, as in the VX shape they were actually slightly slower then the sedens?
