Re: with the release of series 2 BA's, what trend will follow in the used market?
I think what you have to wayup is, how much car you get for $30,000, I think if you can get a T6 for that sort of money it is fantastic value!! they are a great car and in my opinion 30k is good buying, if you hang on for another 6 to 8 month they might drop an other couple of grand, but you haven't had the enjoyment of owning & driving the car for those months. Go for it mate, give a few car yards a call and see how you go. Good luck....

Re: with the release of series 2 BA's, what trend will follow in the used market?
I'm guessing most BA's will hold their values mainly due to the BAII having no mechanical changes over the BAI (apart from the 6 speed in the 6t and XR8), so that's probably the lowest an XR6T will go for until next falcon is due...Just my thoughts though!
Re: with the release of series 2 BA's, what trend will follow in the used market?
The bulk of the private leased BAI XR6T's will come on to the market towards the end of 2005 and this is when a few XR6T bargains will be had.
For the price you want to pay an out of warranty ex finance lease 3-4yr car is going to get you the best car for the money. Cheap XR6T's out there now tend to be problem cars.
Re: with the release of series 2 BA's, what trend will follow in the used market?
Towards the end of next year, im gunna start looking for a xr6t sedan, im hoping they will be around the 20-25 mark for a decent one, which i thnk they will be, considering you can get them for the low to mid 30's now.

Re: with the release of series 2 BA's, what trend will follow in the used market?
you're on the right track there. You have to look at the typical 3yr 50% & 4yr 40% residual these cars will have. New $46k plus on road say $50 and 40-50% left owing so they should come in at $20-$25k but being sought after will keep the price high untill too many come on the market to support the premium. Ford built heaps of XR6T's so they will never hold value like a GTP.
Re: with the release of series 2 BA's, what trend will follow in the used market?
You have to look at it on a case by case basis. 2002 build, 50000+km you will score for the low $30k mark as an example. Depending on your budget search for an 03 build version with under 50000km which would still be no more than $35k if that fits into your budget.
Also the longer you wait the prices will obviously be lower, factor in that km will be higher too.

Yep, a low $30K XR6T will have high k's and be a year or two old. Really depends what you're after. A low K '04 build T will still hover around $40,000...which is still not bad in my opinion.
I took one for a spin on the weekend (my first drive of a Turbo I might add! ) that only had 3000 k's on it and was going for $40,000
