Value
Falcon 9 ($56400nz)

Diamante 8

this is my *favourite* quote
'theres no competition here: the ford is much improved but is a hoary old beast compared to the Mitsubishi which is a quieter, smoother product on the open road with well muted wind and road noise to boot.'

im quite suprised how close it was since the Diamante is really old now and due for a major overall soon and the rave reviews the XR6t gets

Strange. The Magna is the oldest out of the 'big four', and still wins over the falcon, which is (arguably) the newest out of all of them.

The current shape Verada isn't as smooth or refined in feel as even an AU was except for at start up I would have thought the BA would have been more refined again

I have never understood what makes people buy magnas over falcon and commodore. anything that needs you to make a 3 point turn on a highway is rubbish.

The Magna in its latest guise has been and still is, a very much underrated motorcar. Drove a new Verada 12 months ago and it was a bit of an eye opener as to how well the thing went and drove. So i'm not at all suprised that it stacked up so well against the BA, even though it has been around for a while now.
So what would I buy if it came down to the Magna and the BA Falcon?
The Falcon every time without fail.

The magna is a pretty all right car. Okay its not RWD, its not increadably blokey or aussie lookin.. But these are its only flaws really.. The engines are smooth and pokey, the interiors are a little boring but quite nice and the body is quite stylish and in VRX guise quite aggressive (in japanese way, kinda like a skyline)..
4wd and some beefer engines.. things could change..
