Just wondering if anyone has noticed any smoke comming out of the back end when car is cold, (puff of bluey smoke only on thr first accelaration).
My car is a XR6T with aps 2 and 15000k on the clock.
If it's blue smoke, it's not good. Could be just your value stem seals, could be more serious. Get the car compression tested at your dealer or somewhere else ASAP.

DOH:Yeah probably just valve stem seals,BUT you gotta ask yourself could there be any other contributing factors.

Mate of mine had the same problem with a new Saab turbo, had it fixed yesterday , problem was due to the accelerator not being set right, think he said it was because they stretch or whatever, anyway dealer fixed it ok.
I onyl noticed it this morning when my wife took of in it, i followed her down the road and it did not do it again. It seems to be only when first started when the car is cold!

Sounds like it may be as simple as 2 much fuel like my mates Saab, his only did on start up as well

Possibly fuel related if there is a mapping issue on s/up and it is washing the bores, hence diluting the oil around the pistons and in turn burning it ,or dribbly injector.
Have it checked out man b4 it does more damage.

Notice that he says its when its cold- everything blows oil smoke when its cold, whether you can see it or not. This is because the pistons and rings have not expanded in the cylinders to make the ideal seal yet. If its not there when its hot- i wouldn't really worry...on the other hand, if its a fair cloud of smoke, you could be in a bit of trouble.
