Wound mine out yesterday and at 5200rpm and 234kph, blow off valve goes off, revs drop...all over. The car was still pulling like a train right up to that point, and would happily keep getting up there again, but unloaded every time I got to that mark.
Are these things supposed 2 b limited in any way, or have I got gremlins?

there speed limited to 230kph. if yours is a ute u really dont wanna go to much faster than that in a ute! with the edit you can get the speed limit raised i believe. the blow off valve goes of because the ecu closes the throttle.

Cheers for that, I figured it would be something like that. Its a bloody shame, there's still heaps of power there, even mostly stock...just have to wait til Santa drops a stage II kit down my chimney I guess.
I have a sedan, I assume you're looking at my profile pic...thats my old XC, I just haven't taken any photo's of the new one yet.

It's not about the stability of the ute- it's about tailshaft vibration. If you go any faster, you'll hit a speed at which the tailshaft resonates and then it'll shake itself apart. Then if you're unfortunate enough to drop the front end, the tray does a pole vault over the cabin...

I had mine goin 200 the other day, in the NT, felt pretty stable. Don't really see the need for goin much faster. A 230 -240 km/h cut out is pretty good for a standard car imo

A Typhoon with a good xtreme edit and the limiter increased to its maximum of 199.9 MPH (It cannot be removed) will keep pulling hard in 6th when the speedo needle has stopped on the pin at 270 Don't ask me how I know this, but its a fact
