Thats BS, when you cant beat them with facts turn to fabrications. wasnt that fast hey, you dont know much about ls1's then , factory spec they are closer, ls1 stil much quicker but aftermarket the ls1 was far superior, and only recently an ls1 made the first 10 second pass in australia, with factory auto.

NOone has said anything bad about the XR6T, its small minded people who constantly bag the ls1 due to its lack of technology, whilst the ls1 still has the ability to keep up, with the turbo and am sure it will be able to keep up with the BOSS. That in my opinion makes it all the more worth recognition.

And yet it could be the same fate for the new Ford 6 and V8 engines too. No one really knows the long term reliability of them either. P.s. I read that BMW M5 V8's use 1L of oil every 1000 K's on the odo too. Im going to wait for 6 months before I order an XR6 Turbo or SV8.

I never said anything about the XR6T, and of course a turbo-charged 6 will do what an 8 without a turbo will do. That's not high-technology. What impresses me is the BMW M3 3 liter without a turbo, has more power than XR6T, SS etc....

yes the lack of any overhead cam tech is a problem becuase of the inhenant weekness in pushrods and the setup of them.
The motor also only has 2 valves per cylinder which means less potential breathing room.
Lack of OHC also removes the ablity to install systems like VCT.

No not really, bring on the competition, we never said anything bad about the Xr6T, and i think the ls1 has enough to compete, it is one of the best dollar for dollar v8's to mod. now all we need to know is how good is the xr6T, there are alot of high tech turbo cars out there, that make big power, to me the XR6T will just be another to deal with only this one has a significant weight disadvantage over the rest of them, it all depends on how big your wallet is.

oh and no I don't suggest you get a poxy 4cy cause even with the TECH they suck.
I'm just saying that with a motor that big a lot of the "volumetric efficentcy" (can't spell to save my life) of the motor is wasted.
