Well today my Ute made me proud when she pulled a 202.5kw on the dyno. Now, for an auto, I think this is quite impressive. But maybe I'm biased...

In 2nd gear it pulled a 188, and I was happy. Then we went again in 3rd, and you could not wipe the grin from my face, as it pulled the 202.5 figure. These results taken in shootout mode.

With a ramp rate of 70, in 2nd gear, it pulled 185 in 2nd, then 190 in 3rd.
Ramp rate of 100 it pulled 197 in 3rd.

Following is the printout.

The boost maxed out at around 5.5psi as shown.

'Shoot-out' mode? What did it produce in 'normal' mode? And what's the difference between the two modes? Does shoot-out mode just add 10% to the actual figure?

These figures are when the dyno was set manually. As you can see shootout mode only added ~5kw to the figures.

i've now tested 5 xr6t turbo's mine included and done all tests in normal mode, they all came up between 171kw and 179kw at tyres and all vehicles were auto and std form at time of testing, one of the vehicles had a dyno run done a couple of days before at another dyno shop in brissy and it was done in shootout mode and the same car that recorded 174.2kw on my dyno recorded 197.3kw on theirs in shootout mode, it makes it a little difficult to compare cars when to two modes vary so much, but at the end of the day congrats because you've got a 200 + kw dyno sheet and after all we're all winners because their a new car to own,.

Can someone explain what the difference between the 2 modes is and what the difference in ramp rate is???

a recent street machine magazine got those figures almost exactly when they dynoed a stock xr6 turbo, it was exactly the same power output at the wheels as the XR8 they were comparing it with!

Yes, but that's only because they ran the XR8 at zero boost!
