Red face three reasons for an XR8

Why did I buy an XR8 over the XR6 Turbo?

Simple:

1) Much cheaper insurance (I mean much cheaper)
2) Reliability - you lot who are tweaking those turbo's won't be happy with them in 3 years time; and
3) Resale - history shows that turbo models built by both Holden and Ford (yes - ford built a few with the XE Falcon) haven't had the sustained resale values like the V8.

Oh well, I suppose that for those who are short sighted and only want to get what they can out of a car in the short term should buy the XR6 Turbo... the flavour of the month.

Just on the insurance thing I'm paying $707. I wonder how this compares with the XR8 insurance.
BTW i was expecting to pay alot more and was surprised at the price.

(I'm 38, rating 1 for life and live in melbourne's eastern suburbs.)

Well said. The resale on XE / XF Turbos is low because they weren't factory fitment. Just look at the VL Turbo, the prices of them are well up there.

Luke mate, you crashed and burned. What on earth were you thinking posting than in here?
Just try and be a little more open minded, and you'll get on fine.
